Aquinata Hall is staffed by skilled caregivers, aides and support professionals who are devoted to helping each resident live comfortably and independently.

Sara Verheek – Director of Care

Sara has shared her expertise, quality care philosophy, and her caring and compassionate nature with seniors and their families for more than two decades in varied roles in the Long Term Care industry. She discovered her passion for senior care when she was in high school and worked in a nursing home. Throughout her college years she continued to volunteer in nursing homes and set a goal to become a director of a senior living community. She attended Central Michigan University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Therapeutic Recreation. In her spare time she enjoys taking walks, biking, the beach, skiing, boating, and especially spending time with family and friends.

Marcia Dells – Aquinata Hall Community Assistant

Marcia’s passion for great causes is evidenced by her 20+ years of administrative experience in the nonprofit world. Her tenure includes 13 years with the Association for the Blind, and more than 11 years on the Grand Rapids ~ Dominican Sisters campus.

She began working at Aquinata Hall in 2002; first as an administrative assistant, and then when the building was modeled and licensed as a healthcare facility in 2013, she began her new role as Community Assistant.Marcia feels greatly blessed to work on the Marywood campus. She enjoys working with the Sisters and lay residents and is grateful to be a part of the exciting changes that are taking place on campus.

Marcia received her Associates degree from Davenport College after graduating from Unity Christian High School. She grew up in Grand Rapids, with brief stays in Hudsonville and Wyoming. She and her husband currently reside in Lowell with their blended family that includes a combined total of six children, their spouses, eight grandchildren and two cats.

In her spare time, Marcia enjoys spending time with grandchildren, sewing, quilting, kayaking, morel mushroom hunting and reading.
